Terms of Service
Effective: October 7, 2026. Using this site means you have read and agree to the following.
1. The service
Tuxia is a free online image steganography tool: hide files inside images, or extract them back. All computation runs locally in your browser (see Privacy Policy); there are no accounts and no cloud storage.
2. Fair use
- The tools are for lawful purposes only — learning, research, technical exchange and everyday file sharing. Do not use them to spread unlawful content or infringe anyone's rights.
- Do not attack or disrupt the service in any way, including mass scraping, high-frequency requests or maliciously crafted inputs.
- If we find the site being used for unlawful activity, we will cooperate with the relevant authorities and reserve the right to block the access involved.
3. Your responsibilities
- Keep your password safe. It only derives keys locally — we store and back up nothing. Lose it and the files are unrecoverable (see FAQ).
- Share the original image. Once a platform compresses or transcodes the image, the hidden data is gone — see this guide.
- Back up important files elsewhere. Don't treat a Tuxia image as the only copy of your data.
4. Disclaimers
- The site is provided "as is", with no promise of 24/7 availability.
- We are not liable for data loss caused by not following the instructions (sending via compressing channels, forgetting passwords, accidental deletion).
- We are not responsible for third-party platforms' (chat apps, forums, cloud drives) content policies or compression behavior.
5. Intellectual property
The site's copy, styles and code belong to Tuxia. Files you hide or extract belong to you (or their original rights holders) — nothing to do with us.
6. Donations and ads
This is a free public-welfare tool site with no memberships or paid features. You may voluntarily donate to support us; the site may show a small amount of advertising in the future to cover costs — see section 3 of the Privacy Policy.
7. Changes and contact
These terms may be updated; new versions are published on this page. Questions? Use the contact page.
